Cardcaptor Sakura is often abbreviated as CCS, or commonly called Sakura the Catcher Card, is a manga and anime by CLAMP. Cardcaptor Sakura published in Japan by Kodansha and made a series by Nakayoshi. The series consists of twelve volumes. The series won the Seiun Award for the best manga category in 2001.
The anime series on television (1998–2000) was adapted from the manga, which tells of Sakura Kinomoto accidentally opening a book containing a Clow Card. When the book was opened, all 52 cards (17 sheets in the manga) created by Clow Reed scattered all over the city of Tomoeda. It is the duty of Sakura to reassemble the cards with the help of a creature named Cerberus, which appears together when the book opens.
