Track your COVID-19 health status through QR code verification
Verifiers can be classified as an entity whereby the public may gather such as airports, shops, restaurants, schools, or more. Upon scanning the presented QR code from users, a user’s status will be revealed via one of three colours: green (immune), amber (apply social distancing) and red (self-isolate). These QR codes will then be used by the users when entering public spaces to ensure that individuals who pose a risk do not further transmit the virus. It will also allow healthy individuals to safely enter the premises. The intention is to allow the South African economy to reboot by letting those who pose no risk, return to business and into the public areas. The app will be free to users.
The User Journey:
A user will create a Covi-ID through the web application: (https://coviid.me/).
The Covi-ID application programming interface (API) will generate a wallet for the user’s specific account when the user creates their Covi-ID. All wallets are held by the custodian wallet holder, StreetCred.
The result is that the user will be presented with a QR code that can be downloaded and stored either digitally or physically.
When entering public places with verifiers, users can present their QR Code.
Verifiers will scan the users QR code which will result in the Covi-ID application requesting the user’s COVID-19 health status from their wallet.
The result is that the users COVID-19 status will be retrieved and presented to the verifier. Their COVID-19 status will either be green, red or amber.
Subsequently, the user will either be granted entry by the verifier or not depending on the user’s COVID-19 status.
