ItemEyes is a photo-based app that tags and manages your valuables.
Nearly everyone has some possessions they consider to be irreplaceable such as heirlooms, jewelry, memorabilia, artwork, etc. Ask yourself—besides you, does anyone know what these items are, where they're located, what they're worth or why they're treasured by you?
Most home inventory apps list everything from frying pans, blenders, crystal to golf clubs but, none highlight VALUABLES to the extent we wanted. Thus, we developed ItemEyes to clearly, safely itemize and document valuables that are not being used every day.
ItemEyes allows you to tag and document items that you consider to be “highly valuable” not only with individual photographs, but by taking a photo of an entire wall and simply tagging items in that photo. Upload close up images of serial numbers, item numbers, and artist’s signatures. Take a snapshot of a wall and tag it all—much quicker. Similar to tagging friends on social media.
TIP: It’s okay if items don’t have monetary value—if they're sentimental—TAG it.
Document One-of-a-Kind Items
You may wish to get a professional appraisal for some jewelry, artwork, antiques, memorabilia, and hard to replace valuables. Take a photo of appraisal and upload for safekeeping.
Under the description of each tagged item thoroughly document the memories or backstory of that gift, purchase or heirloom. You’ll want to pass down the item with the sentiment behind it. Ask your parents or grandparents while they're still around to share their stories.
HOW IT WORKS
Aim & Shoot
The ItemEyes App is a revolutionary, easy-to-use photo-based App that documents and securely stores all of your irreplaceable possessions in an orderly manner. It allows you to take a photo of an entire wall or a room.
If you’re not on site of some of your items, Choose From Library of photos on your cell, tag and document.
Tag & Document
All you have to do is tag each item in the photo with a description (backstory) and other pertinent info like the location of item, price paid, place acquired, today’s value, a link to similar items found on the net, disposition at death, and upload support photos such as artist’s signature, serial and item numbers, and appraisals.
Tip: Use Google Images to find similar items to help determine the value and get detailed descriptions.
Catalog
Customize how you want to catalog your valuables so they can be easily located by physical location or by groups.
Use LOCATION folders to group items by their physical locations (Living Room, Primary Bedroom, Study, Wine Cellar, etc.) or by collection (Jewelry, Handbags, Tiffany Glass, Sports Memorabilia, etc.).
Tip: If you have multiple homes, items at your office, or have lent out your valuables to exhibitions or galleries—photograph, tag and manage them for safe recordkeeping.
Sharing
Once you’ve itemized everything, share an email link or texted link of any or all of your stored valuables with insurance agent, estate attorney, or family members. They won't be able to change anything—except have a descriptive record of your treasured items.
Tip: Valuables inventory is only useful if it's accurate and you're able to access in case of fire, theft, destructive disaster, death, or a divorce.
Security
Your list doesn’t do you any good if it is in your house and is stolen, burned, damaged or destroyed.
Therefore, as long as you have an active ItemEyes account the App will continue to securely store your encrypted data of your tagged valuables. We recommend that you upload your data to an online file storage service like DropBox, Google Drive, or Carbonite for easy remote access 24/7.
If you like paper—You can always print out the individual tags with descriptive info for a safe deposit box, relative, close friend, insurance agent, or an estate attorney.
