About Limited Use drugs:
Some of the 4,300 prescription drugs listed on the ODB Formulary are called LU. Limited Use products are listed in the Ontario Drug Benefit Formulary with specific clinical criteria or conditions for use and will be reimbursed only when those conditions have been met. When a physician prescribes one of these drugs, they must confirm that your circumstances require treatment with a LU drug by writing a three-digit code on a prescription, called the Reason for Use code.
