The commitments assumed by all countries, which have signed the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, seek to promote sustainable, equitable and inclusive development. In addition, it is intended to contribute to the achievement of the goals proposed in the Sustainable Development Goals such as the eradication of poverty and the reduction of inequality, guarantee a healthy life and inclusive education, as well as access to drinking water and the use of sources of energy, so that you can have sustainable cities and human settlements.
Although this agreement was signed by the States, the cities are responsible for implementing it, since all the Sustainable Development Goals include goals related to competencies and responsibilities at the subnational level, mainly in the provision of basic services and in the promotion of territorial development. inclusive and sustainable.
Making the 2030 Agenda a reality requires the articulation and coordination of the different levels of government in the definition of territorial objectives and strategies, as well as coordination with social actors, as well as the construction of citizenship and public commitment. Its success will depend on the actions and the will carried forward by the cities and their governments.
In this sense, I am pleased to make available this document whose main objective is to make visible the commitment of the Autonomous Municipal Government of La Paz with the 2030 Agenda through the linking of our planning model and the articulation with public policies implemented at the local level , within the framework of its competences, specialization and particular characteristics of its territory.
