Squirrels Childcare app
We run an unusual childcare setting, we are a personal and family run business that holds family, love and care at its heart as well as developing staff, children and the environment at all times. It is unusual to have such a High number of highly qualified staff but we pride what we do on the fact we understand the children inside out and become second to you when you are not there. It is such a great pleasure to have them here and to be able to see them grow and develop.
We run all year round, 50 weeks of the year and only close at Christmas for 1.5-2 weeks. We accommodate holidays and some pickups depending on the time of day. We already collect from several local schools.
We do get extremely busy and fill up quickly, we have had three pregnant mummies book their babies into Squirrels before the arrival of their newborn this year.
We have an unusual approach as this has evolved from the child-minding setting into an exciting, home-based environment but within the community rooms. We are working in close partnership with Duston Parish Council to bring children back into the centre but to ensure we keep the homely, close parent and family partnership we hold so dear at the heart of what we do.
To make us extra unique we have two minibuses that take the children out and about everyday. The children visit local parks, woodlands, events, playgroups, walk to the shops, library, sports cafe in small familiar groups with their key workers. In this time the ratios are kept high, which means we are ensuring the highest interactions and care is given at all times. The children are happy, well cared for and staff are supported by their colleagues and life is much more fun.
